Not taking any damage

Hey guy! This is my first time posting, and I'm relatively new, so excuse me if this isn't the correct place to post. Anyways, my issue is on my Tekkit server. I recently acquired it from a friend and honestly know very little about it. I've been stumbling along enough to get it at least running well. Just recently, I've stopped taking damage at all while on the server. My armor isn't even being damaged when being stumbled. A friend and I discovered one night that we could just walk through lava too, and the only thing that would happen is we would get a headache from the noise. Now, that is cool for a while, but, if I didn't want damage at all, I would just use creative all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions, or know where it is in the config files that turns this on and off?

what do you do for it to happen?
