Custom Zip won't allow modpack.jar

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 1.1.2.0

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit

Java Version: 1.7.0_07

Antivirus Program:

Description of Problem:

When using the custom zip feature if I compress modpack.jar in side of the bin folder and install the pack it says my minecraft version is corrupt and stops, but if it's not there then it installs but doesn't run any of the mods because there's no forge.

I've tried 3 different methods like installing forge after the custom zip but that gets over written when the custom zip is updated of the cache clears

Error Messages:

The minecraft installation was corrupted.

The minecraft installion was cleaned.

Try to login again. If that fails, close and restart the application

Error Log:

How are you constructing the modpack.jar? From what I've used, that file is basically just Forge + any other jar mods, but does not include the files from the actual Minecraft jar file. I don't know if you're taking a minecraft jar, installing forge into that, then renaming it to modpack.jar. Really, in my mind, that should work just as well, but maybe that would be your issue? If the only jar mod you're installing is Forge, try just grabbing your Forge jar and renaming it to modpack.jar.
