Unplayable Frame Rate Drops

Whenever I join one of my mate's Tekkit Classic server, I'll be playing fine for about 2 - 10 minutes alright nothing too irregular then all of the sudden my frame rate will drop to about 10 to even 0 and just freeze, the ground beneath me will stop rendering and I can see all the underground cave systems beneath the map. It basically makes playing impossible at this point people have suggested adding Java to NVIDEA and using some High Performance setting but that isn't there on my control panel, it looks like this http://gyazo.com/19d38567d8e8fb6a29eb0bc988bfade5 for me.
