Cannont launch any of the modpacks

Launcher Version: 201

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Java Version: Java Version 1.7.0_13 from Oracle Corporation

Antivirus Program: Avast

Description of Problem:

The launcher starts correctly, but when launching any of the modpacks the launcher attempts to download the minecraft.jar 3 times and fails each time. Then I am greeted with an error report forcing me to close the application.

The reason seems to be that Mojang releases version 1.5 of Minecraft today. And that the TechnicLauncher downloads minecraft.jar and checks the checksum of that and since its a new version it fails.
