telenet port 25565 refuses to open

I have a problem with opening the 25565 port on my ip. it just refuses to open. i made an exception in my firewall and did it with a friend who had experience with servers. The problem i think is the fact that i have a telenet fibernet router (that is a special router of the brand cbn that the internet provider (telenet) gave us).

some times it just doesnt port to that computer if yoy go onto your network map then cheak if your computer is on there if not you cant port foward on that computer

Did you correctly port forward? In my experience it's always that people do something wrong there. Make sure that your modem/router forwards TCP traffic on port 25565 to <your.pc.ip.address>. Sometimes the problem is really weird. I have a double setup (router behind a modem, modem forwards to router, router forwards to my system) with a Thomson modem. The port forwarding only works correctly when UPnP is disabled.

i did correctly forward it and i found the problem: i had to update my java. once i did the port opened and the server works.
