New Technic Launcher causes Minecraft crash when launching all mods

Launcher Version: 218

Operating System: Windows 7

Java Version: V7 15 and V7 17

Antivirus Program: Trend Micro

Description of Problem:

As soon as I try and launch a mod , the system sits there for a while , then either I get a white box or an error screen.

tried WITH and WITHOUT Antivirus on - previous version of launcher runs fine

Error Messages:

Minecraft has crashed!

well , by accident...I've found a solution....

It's a little wierd and I can't see how it would make any difference...

BUT....

if I toggle on 'show console' every time before I try and launch a mod pack, it all works....
