Leehams Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 My laptop runs any mod in the technic pack at very low fps. When looking at mobs, I dip to 6 ish FPS. I have tried changing how much RAM the technic pack is to use, but in task manager, the amount of physical memory the game is taking up is not as high as I selected ( I selected 4 GB, it uses 1.2 MG). Also, I have a quad core i7 sandy bridge CPS, but the vast majority of the processing load is concentrated on one core. I have tried changing all the in-game settings, but nothing helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Roors99 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Read stickies. Also, try lowering settings in game.
zackminepro Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 install optifine onto your modpack. for instructions look here: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/how-do-i-add-mods-to-an-existing-mod-pack.41859/ my reply to the user tells you how. OptiFine is supposed to be put into the minecraft.jar archive.
Lachlantula12 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 1. Optifine If that doesn't help really... 2. Crank up the amount of usage of Java in the task manager 3. Get a simple texture pack, etc. Postercraft 4. Lower your settings on MC 5. Deal with it
Gerard Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Does your laptop have an nVidia Optimus-based dual GPU? If so, you may need to launch it by right-clicking and choosing explicitly which graphics processor to use. I find that vanilla Minecraft will use the nVidia GPU automatically but I'm unable to get the control panel to remember my preference for Technic and when I forget then it runs like a dog with the Intel GPU even with an Ivy Bridge i7 3630QM.
Torezu Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Also, unless you're using a 64+ texture pack, Minecraft really only needs 2-ish GB assigned (or less). Allocating more is asking for Java's garbage handling to screw you over. This situation seems like it might be best to listen to Gerard on, though.
