Tekkit Crashes - Mac

I have been having a lot trouble trying to get my technic launcher to work.

First of all, I got the new launcher and it was working great until one day it said "Technic Launcher and Minecraft have incompatibility issues with Java 7 on OS X. I followed the link it gave me and I tried to fix it by going back to java 6 but it didn't work. So I went back to the old launcher and when it had finished downloading the technic launcher.jar thingy is said update failed. So I went to this link "http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/update-failed-and-a-solution.29102/" and did what it said to do and it didn't come up with the failed update message but as soon as tekkit launched it crashed. I dont know what to do! Please help!!
