jmanwilbert Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I host my own tekkitlite server on my computer and everything was working fine until one day I try to get on and it says "cannot connect to server" I have checked the port forwarding and my IPv4 to make sure they match, nothing there has changed, next i checked my ip using ipchicken and it hasnt changed, so next i thought that norton may be blocking my port so i added the exceptions in norton firewall to allow that port and my IPv4 address for both TDP and UDP just like what i did with my port forwarding on my router and still no luck.....I dont get it, nothing has changed since the previous day i was just on and everything was working fine CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!!! Calibra Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hi I have sorted out why the server wouldnt connect after a laptop ( server ) restart. The router assigns a new ipad3 address to connected pc's each time there is a restart. So the ipad3 address set in the port forwarding to the laptop ( router ) is incorrect. I went into setup network settings and found a setting to force the ipad3 address for my laptop to be the same each time. Scrolling tomthe bottom of the page are the connected pc's there is some blue text next to each RESERVE AND another word which means release the ipad3 address, cant remeber what its called at the moment, however clicking onnthe reserve button added the laptop ipad3 to a reserved slot 'dhcp reservation. Now it works everytime.......only,problem now is it doesnt like one of the mods and i get a severe error.......will,sort this out tomorrow hopefully. If you need further help or explanation you can pm me.....assuming that possible !!! Calibra Quote
