Item id problems

Whenever I try to craft or spawn in any item that does not exist in vanilla, it says "There is no such item with ID x" Where x is the item id of whatever the item is. anyone know how to fix this? Treecapitator also does not work.

EDIT: I was accidentally using the minecraft server .jar fine, but the TekkitLite.jar file will not open, it gives me the error "A java exception occured"
