Description of Problem:

Everything works fine, up until a point. The launcher launches, I type in my login details, the default packs all download their files, and everything is good until I click login. Stuff happens, things load, and the new window is brought up. However, it's just a white screen. Nothing happens, even after quite a while. I brought up the console and launched Tekkit lite, and it confirmed that nothing more was being done after the white screen, with no obvious errors. If it's any help, I seem to be able to interact with some sort of menu through the white screen. Clicking randomly elicits "click!" sounds, as if a button were being pressed. However, there is still no response.

What exactly do I need to clear the cache for? I've cleared the cache for Internet Explorer (not sure if that's right...) but is there something else to clear the cache for?

Go to the launcher, hit the gear icon, press "delete modpack" "Reset modpack" something like that. Or just delete it manually from the .technic folder.

Yes. I tried disabling my AV, but that made no difference.

I also noticed that after launching, right before the error, this window pops up for about a second before disappearing seemingly prematurely, to be replaced by the white screen.

Could the fact that this never reaches higher than 0% be related to the problem?

Thanks, but I reckon if I don't know how to fix a white screen, I'm not proficient at solving your problem either XD Though I'm sure you also understand how frustrating it is to see something as awesome as the technic launcher, and not be able to use it!

Problems like this are almost always the result of an overzealous firewall or antivirus. Be sure you've also disabled Windows Firewall during the installation.

Ah, looks like I've missed that one. I'll try reinstalling it now, with that off. I'm wary though, because the Windows firewall always notifies me when it blocks something. I'll edit with an update in a bit.

Edit: Right, so, yeah, that kinda didn't work at all. I mean, once I disabled and reinstalled, that 0% popup I showed y'all earlier went to a full 100% this time around, and the white screen seemed to shift about as if something was going to happen. But no, after the loading popup disappeared, it went back to being all white and stuff.

Are there any unknown firewalls/AV programs I could have missed? I've disabled AVG and Windows Firewall, so I can't imagine there being anything else...

You have AVG installed. Unfortunately, disabled or not, it's been known to mess with downloads. I'd remove it entirely. Other free AVs like Avast! and MSE work just as well and aren't as intrusive.

*sigh* Nope. No good. I have absolutely no antivirus going on here, so I don't know what could be wrong.
