Trouble powering lasers

So i'm just starting to set up my first EM network and am having trouble powering my lasers for the assembly tables. the setup i have that isn't working is as follows: IC2 solar arrays hooked up to a ic2 consumer-energy bridge-bc producer-energy tesseract on the same frequency as an energy tesseract connected to 16 lasers via redstone energy conduits.

the energy tesseract powers a single laser when immediately adjacent to a laser, but doesn't seem to send energy through the redstone energy conduits even though the wiki specifically says this is a valid way to transport MJ from the tesseract.

Does anyone have any info on this? thanks
