MAC osx 1.7.5, java 6/1.6 required?

Hey everyone,

A long while ago a mac java update came along and broke tekkit for some people, unfortunately that included me.

I've heard rolling back can solve the issue but I've uninstalled java 7 and attempted to install java 6 lots of times. It usually just ends up not installing for some reason, it'll run through the whole thign but won't install, or worse than that I'll download java 6 and the installer won't install it because I'm using 1.7.5 mac os x.

I've found what I assumed were same java 6 installers for mac osx but after they run I try to open the launcher and it says "java 1.6 is required" but I also cannot find anything related to java in my system preferences since I uninstalled 7, It;'s really getting confusing

I've not played tekkit for a long, long time and I really miss playing my server. If you guys can give me any help at all I would really appreciate it.

p.s. I've searched the forum here too but no one else seems to be having this many issues getting things up and running again

It says I have to have java 6 but I cant get later version on my mac? So im stuck too.
