Description of Problem:

I have downloaded and Install Tekkit (the newest one) right and everything seems right but when the big mojang logo appears it freezes for like 5 min. Then it crashes.

i am having the exact same problem and i was so sad i got home from school and my friends in my clan OneStepMc told me there was a new tekkit and i was so excited to go play with them on a server my friend hosted (from his comp) and i launched it and it crashed i was so confused because i thought the technic laucher never crashed

Same error here, it looks like to me. Relaunched the launcher a few times to no effect; a re-download of the launcher also made no difference.

There's a new version with a few hotfixes included. Try that. If there are still problems, it's most likely either your java config or antivirus being annoying.

Edit: your error is a nullpointer error, which is often caused by something being installed wrongly. That might be your problem. But java tends to throw nonsense at you when something goes wrong...
