modpack icons will not load and get message saying error downloading file for pack

Launcher Version: 1.0? latest version

Operating System: OSX lion 10.7.5

Java Version: 6

Antivirus Program: none

Description of Problem:

old technic launcher used to work to play all modpacks. download most recent version of launcher to play voltz and when i open none of the mod pack logos load. they all just say loading... when i try to launch one i get a message saying "error retrieving information for selected pack :volts". i get this message for every modpack and i just want to play. please help!

i may be able to restore the launcher to the older version... should i do that and then try to force update it or something? someone please help... also its taking longer than usual to start up
