Can only place Vanilla blocks on my server?

I'm having the same problem too. I also can't get any items from the NEI. It just says that the ID:XXX for that item doesn't exist. x.x

I had the same problem and Googled the hell out of it. I found your thread here before finding the solution. Apparently you need something called MCPC Plus Legacy. A friend of mine runs a Tekkit server and he had to install it for his plugins to work with the mod-pack. The download can be found here: http://ci.md-5.net/job/MCPC-Plus-Legacy/

Place the jar file into your server directory and edit your run config from (example.jar) to the name of the new file. This is how I have mine set and it works fine:

java -Xms3G -Xmx3G -XX:PermSize=1G -XX:MaxPermSize=1G -jar mcpc-plus-legacy-1.4.7-R1.1-SNAPSHOT-f534-L67.jar

that's correct -- with the update of Minecraft to 1.6, MCPC-Plus has updated to match. If you want older builds you need the Legacy versions as mentioned above.

If, on the other hand, you're not using plugins and MCPC-Plus, it probably won't solve your problem. Note that you'll want the "C" builds if you're running Tekkit 1.0.6 and the "B" builds if you're running 1.1.5
