Usually that comes by default, but specific mods can impose specific restrictions if they override the ore gen system, like Metallurgy does.

I would have assumed that Mystcraft symbols would have needed to be added manually since they are their own objects with rules and such.

Do you know of any symbol add-on packs that are compatible with the new Tekkit?
