My friend can't see his actions on my server. Help?

Just set up a new Tekkit server. My friend can log on fine and such, but when he does an action - like place a block or swap to creative - it can take anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute for him to see the action.

However, I see the actions on my end RIGHT away. When he places water, I see it. He dosn't. The server seems to be receiving the actions fine, but he can't see that.

Any suggestions? :\

Its lag feedback. He likely does not have as great of a connection as you, or are farther away from the hosting computer than you are.
