Game Freezes/ Crashes on world creation or joining

Been trying for the past 30-45 minutes to get this to work, so I can join the private server a few friends are setting up. I have set the launcher to use 3GB ram, if that matters. Sorry for not using pastebin, the log was too large of a file apparently. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, you want to click on the cogwheel in the upper right hand corner of the launcher, and check the box that says "increase permgen space". You may also want to increase memory allocation while you're there. The checkbox is the important part for this crash log, though.
