I have updated my new modpack up to 1.5.2 because all the mods were upgradable. After I had finished and requested the launcher to get the file everything seemed to have gone smoothly. When I clicked launch, it went through a few processes and then came up with the error.

Error unzipping file for the following pack: KianCraft

Error unzipping file: C:UserskianAppDataRoaming.KianCraftcachethekian-pack-beta-1.2(1.5.2).zip

No idea what could be wrong

You need to fix the link to your pack, it points to a website. You can see that yourself, rename the zip which TechnicLauncher downloaded to html, and open it with a browser.

I'm having pretty much the same problem, but could someone please tell me how would I change the zip to an html?

Just rename it, delete the .zip part and replace it with .html.

Easy

That's happening to me too. I tried other things than dropbox too, but still didn't work. Did the compressing go wrong? When I look into the /[modpack_name]/cache and try to open the [modpack_name_version].zip file, it says "Invalid zip file". But if I download the file from dropbox, its fine. Whats happening?

People have been making this mistake with dropbox so often that I think we need a sticky thread about it...

Yea but this was my first time getting a modpack together because of my friends somewhat forced me to do it after i proposed to do it...

well... this worked for me... checked out dropbox suggestions about direct linking. They suggest changing www to dl in the link and also adding ?dl=1 to the end of the link. for example, my modpack was giving the error too with: https://www.dropbox.com/s/emili3m2ium2b98/modpack.zip I changed that to https://dl.dropbox.com/s/emili3m2ium2b98/modpack.zip?dl=1 and it works!

How do you fix this with a 4shared file?

what will I have to replace or whatever if my link is:
