thekian Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I have updated my new modpack up to 1.5.2 because all the mods were upgradable. After I had finished and requested the launcher to get the file everything seemed to have gone smoothly. When I clicked launch, it went through a few processes and then came up with the error. Error unzipping file for the following pack: KianCraft Error unzipping file: C:UserskianAppDataRoaming.KianCraftcachethekian-pack-beta-1.2(1.5.2).zip No idea what could be wrong http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/thekian-pack.52592 Quote
ailmanki Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 You need to fix the link to your pack, it points to a website. You can see that yourself, rename the zip which TechnicLauncher downloaded to html, and open it with a browser. Quote
thekian Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 I have sorted that out, it no longer points to a website when I change it to a html. However, the error still occurs. Quote
thekian Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 Also, the file on dropbox is a rar file, why is it a zip file when downloaded? Quote
Yellowwiz Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I'm having pretty much the same problem, but could someone please tell me how would I change the zip to an html? Quote

r1ckNL Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 i rename it but still doesnt work. i rename it in dropbox zip-html and it gives still the error. maybe i do it wrong? plz tell me Quote
Creeper32605 Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 That's happening to me too. I tried other things than dropbox too, but still didn't work. Did the compressing go wrong? When I look into the /[modpack_name]/cache and try to open the [modpack_name_version].zip file, it says "Invalid zip file". But if I download the file from dropbox, its fine. Whats happening? Quote
worldtothend Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I have that same exact problem! Sigh tried for 2 hours to fix it nothing..... Quote
baream Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 well... this worked for me... checked out dropbox suggestions about direct linking. They suggest changing www to dl in the link and also adding ?dl=1 to the end of the link. for example, my modpack was giving the error too with: https://www.dropbox.com/s/emili3m2ium2b98/modpack.zip I changed that to https://dl.dropbox.com/s/emili3m2ium2b98/modpack.zip?dl=1 and it works! Platform needs a direct link to the zip, not a page containing the zip. 4share doesn't allow direct linking, so host the modpack on Dropbox or another site that does. Quote
plokami666 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 4shared requires an account so I doubt it will work with the launcher. Use a different service. Edit: Oops, didn't see planetguy's reply. Quote
