ok so me an a mate are on our normal server and we cant place blocks or destroy the in our base and i have no idea what to do

forgot to say can do everything in other parts of the world except were our base is

in your server.properties file (assuming you have access to it), is "spawn-protection=0" ? My only other guess would be something to do with PermissionsEx or WorldGuard if you use either of those.
