Help minecraft crashing after i connect to a server

Every time I try to play on a tekkit server after about 30 seconds My minecraft crashes sometimes its a white screen and other times it will show a time out error. I have tried reinstalling and restarting my pc.

Launcher/pack Version: latest recommended build

Operating System:ubuntu linux 32bit

Version of Java: openJDK java 6 runtime

it can't find a file apparently. /tekkit/stats/stats_aaronhance_unsent.tmp to be specific. does the file exist and can java read/write to the directory?

The file dose exist as well as files with the same name but the extensions are .dat and .old. Also how do iI find out if java can read and write. Also it has worked before.

Should I try deleting this file?

give it a shot. you might also try reinstalling the client. backup your world file if you want to keep it first, of course.

Also that .tmp file is not there now!

is "use latest LWJGL binaries" checked? if so, uncheck it. if not, try checking it.

if that fails, update java to java 7 and try that.

also, please don't make me hate myself for complimenting you on not double posting by proceeding to triple post right after I did so.

sorry about the triple posting. also I can not select or deselect that box it is de highlighted, I am using the openJDK java 6 runtime.

I know what java you're using because you were good enough to say so in your OP, that's why I suggested updating.

I have tried many things but it still dosent work any suggestions would be helpful.
