0 RedStoner Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 cannot help you with the extreme lack of information. Usually you get this error though if you are trying to run 2 servers on the same port. Are you running a vannilla or bukkit server already?? If so you will need to change the default port of tekkit to a different one than your other server. 25564 is usually a safe port to use. you would then access the server at yourdomain.com:25564 Quote
0 llbenll Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Normally, if you close the server using the X at the console, it wont shut-down correctly, you will need to go to your task manager and end process for 'Java.exe'. To stop this happening for me i type stop in console. Quote
0 pvtoneill Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 If you are thinking of using your home computer to host a server GTFO N00B! If however your using a (vps/dedicated server/anything in a data center) the port is already in use, so you may have to use a different port example: 25555 If you are considering hosting a gay hamachii server or one of your home connection you have been warned. Hachachii let's people like me have unfiltered access to your LAN, With that I could easily steal all your information, install a rat or 2, or possibly just delete your win32 for shitz and giggle's. That or real server owner's the ones who learned fucking linux to host this shit and pay hundreds of dollar's a month can take your internet out for 2-3 hour's at a time. My booter last's only 10 minutes at one time but it is strong enough to take down any server with dos/ddos protection. (ie yahoo.com, barrackobama.com, shit like that. Quote
0 snowball112 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 There is nothing wrong with home hosting a server, tho if you are take the time to learn how to port forward. This dude above me is getting a little to excited I used to home host a Server and it turned out great Got some donations and bought a Dedicated Server, now i host a 24GB server tekkit server. Everyone has to start some where, and in same cases thats home hosting. Just because you home host a server doesnt make you a noob tho hamachi is kinda gay :3 Quote
