Game crashes before loading custom modpack on Mac, but not on Windows.

Tyler Mick

Question

Launcher Version: 253

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.7.5

Java Version: Java SE 7 Update 25

Antivirus Program: Sophos Anti-Virus 8.0.16C

Description of Problem:

I have created a custom modpack. On Windows, this modpack loads perfectly. However, on Mac, when I select my modpack and click "launch," the game crashes before it reaches the Mojang screen. I assume this is a launcher issue due to the cross-platform nature of Java? And Minecraft itself is running fine on my Mac. Also, I'm trying the "Mac OS X - Nothing Starts Up/FML Setup Crash - Temporary Launcher Fix" as per the so-titled recent forum post, but it's not fixing my problem. What's going wrong?

Error Messages:

On the off chance that someone is going to read this someday, I feel I should add that I have managed to install the equivalent of my modpack on my Mac using Magic Launcher, and it works perfectly. So the problem above is definitely caused by Technic Launcher. I still would like this fixed, as it would make it much easier for the Mac users on my server, but I suppose in the meantime, I'll just send my Mac users the modpack and make them a Magic Launcher install tutorial video.

This has been happening to me as well! But not just on Tekkit, but with FTB as well!

Here is a video demonstration of what happens on FTB:

(Happens the exact same way on Tekkit though)

I have reinstalled java, restarted, completely deleted all files with FTB and tekkit, along with minecraft and regenerated them all. Ugh! It drives me insane!
