i keep getting a rendering error. i installed optifine but then i reset the pack and HALP!!!!

A bit more information would be helpful. I'm going to guess you are seeing the font in the various MPS GUIs being screwy. You need to change an option in the MPS config file, I think if you check on the MPS site you'll see it's a known bug and tells you how to fix it.
