LordShadowWing Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Here's what's going on, I am able to play Tekkit for about 30 minutes to an hour, then it completely causes my MacBook to crash. Im not talking about the java thread crashing, Im talking about Can't move the mouse, Force quit key combinations don't work, etc. The only way to get back to a working environment is by preforming a hard shutdown. (Which I hate doing as it is hard on the electronics and even worse on the Hard drive). I am quite technically savvy, and am in college to be a network administrator, but I am unable to figure this out. The tech specs on this MacBook are as follows: Processor: 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Ram: 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M; 256 MB VRAM Operating System : Mac OS X 10.8.5 Java Version: 7 Update 40; Build 1.7.0_40-b43 Additional Information can be provided as needed, Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have seen the light, It was green, flashy and attached to a network interface card.
Amaxter Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Don't use Java 7 on a Mac with Minecraft, stuff gets weird. Download and install java 6 (Apple's version) and make a startup script to launch the Technic Launcher with Java 6. You say and seem tech savvy enough, so you should be able to do that.
Durkadur Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 This is probably obvious, but have you tried rapairing permissions?
