Im running into problems making this server work and I know its probably something im doing wrong and its annoying that nobody can give me a straight answer, or bother to answer at all. can somebody please talk to me about this

Did you extract the server files and double click on the batch file?

Those are the symptoms of a modded client trying to connect to a vanilla server.

Could you download it yourself and have a look for me? If not there is a batch file in there called start..It opens up a cmd like thing, when its done it adds to forge modloader files and a start.sh to the folder but theres also to jar executables, One looks like the normal minecraft server thing, the other is LGM

I'm on android right now, so I can't look at it myself.

This is what happens when I start a server: (A server we know works, Tekkit 1.1.8 for example)

Double click on Launch.bat. Forge will download itself, the mods will load, and the spawn will generate. When it's done it'll say it's ready. The server is supposed to be a command line, and any time you want to start the server you use the batch file.

Uhh..ive never done it like that..and when i click the launch bat it doesnt make a server..it just adds 2 forge files as far as i can see

But when it says press any button to continue it goes away again..and theres 2 executables in there..what are they for?

I've had a look at the server files. You turn the server on with Start.bat.

The console that pops up is the server.

You'll have to actually try and use it to understand it, its very confusing, I dont know wether its the files that are wrong or its what im doing thats wrong..Ive been at this all freaking day

The executables are started by the batch file. Always use it.

If it says to press any key to continue, it probably crashed. Post what the console said in code tags.

Also, don't triple post. The edit button is your friend.

Whats code tags? and Ive tried every which way I can think of to try and get this to work..I just cant do it, it would be so much easier if you tried it for yourself, Ive never used the cmd sort of way before, Ive always had a server file and never really done mods on a server because this stuff always happens

The code tags are the button that has the brackets on the right.

The folder has everything a normal server should. This is extremely basic stuff. How do you not know how to run a Minecraft server?

As for the error, If you had bothered to read the console, you'd see it says "Download error", which means something got in the way of Forge's download. Download the files manually or temporarily disable your antivirus.

This is all ive ever needed/used. I can do vanilla no problem but mods I just cant seem too do. And as for the files Ive tried, Ive got 1.5.2 forge universal rar, Ive tried putting it in the folder, extracting it to the minecraft.jar, every which way I can think of, i just cant get it to work. I tried looking at youtube videos on the subject And I have actually downloaded server folder that seems to work but its got no mods in, i tried putting the packs mods in it then launching it from the technic launcher but it still doesnt work even if i litterally just swap out the empty folders for the ones with mods in
