Launcher wont launch (look like java is crashing)

Operating System: Windows 7

Java Version: java 7 build 40

Antivirus Program: Avira

Description of Problem:

Yesterday it worked as always but today when i wanted to play the launcher sur wont launch, i did nothing (like updating java or anything else) and suddently the launcher cant be launched.

I thought the launcher was updating or something but i cant find anything like my problem so this i why i wanted to ask you maybe you have a solution.

Error Messages:

nothing, i click on the launcher shortcute and after the loading bar have finished loading the Technic launcher logo disappear and nothing happen

This is the exact same issue I'm having, it only started a few hours ago or so.

I tried deleting every technic launcher file etc. and re-downloading the launcher, still nothing it continues to do this. Maybe there was a java update or something that we don't know about?

Getting the same error message with TechnicLauncher.exe version 2.0.0.253, also noticed that within a previously empty folder "%appdata%.technic" two files have now appeared.

Temp.exe which is 2,082KB and when expanding the .exe, the file has a similar file structure to TechnicLauncher.exe and has the same file icon.

Settings.yml which is 1Kb, which I have copied below.

Possible Fix

Open the .technic folder (Located C:Users<USERNAME>AppDataRoaming.technic or %Appdata%.technic) and delete the file Temp.exe. Then retry the TechnicLauncher and should work.

If that doesn't work, of course it didnt for me, just delete eveything inside the .technic folder. Works for me now.

ok so if u delete all inside .technic folder it is going to work again and ofcourse if u want u can allways copy texturepack and world :)

Just delete

    launcher:

    buildstream: beta

from settings.yml. That way you keep your existing modpacks.
