Zan's Minimap vs. Rei's Minimap

Hey guys,

quick question out of curiosity: How is it Zan's minimap plays only a minor role across Tekkit / FTB in comparison to Reis Minimap? I personally have felt Zans to be superior feature-wise and it felt smoother, but I do not know about its performance.

Is it because of inferior performance? Is it because of Rei's involvement in the Modloader and hence the mod probably being optimized for Forge / Modloader?

I realize Zans and Voxelmap are being the same and it is the expressed intent of the author to switch to Liteloader (whatever that is) at least rename the mod to Voxelmap, but this is way after the past developments. Any insights are appreciated.
