Unable to join servers

Java Version: Version 7 Update 40

Description of Problem:

When i go to join a (normal) Tekkit server it has a red cross and 1.3 about the number of players showing i have the incorrect Minecraft version and the join server button is grayed out, when i hold my mouse over it it says the server is out of date. I have just recently updated my Tekkit and is not why this is happening!

If i helps i have java in a different folder from its default install directory, but Tekkit IS in its default install directory. Also when it ask for Tekkit version on this page, the only option is 1_0_3 when mine is 1.1.8 (I'm pretty sure).

Anyone know how to fix this problem!?

Anyone even have tips on how i might be able to solve this problem, because its getting very frustrating.

What version of tekkit is the server you trying to connect to running? You said you updated your client recently, so I think the server you are trying to connect to is running an older version.
