Launcher wont launch when i click it

Description of Problem:

I click on the launcher and it wont launch it worked fine yesterday but today it wont launch. When it says startup item no does that mean it wont start up and if so how do I change that??

I have the exact same problem, I run it as the user, as an administrator, updated java, restarted my computer, everything. When I double click, it wont even start the process, or show any sign of opening. Therefore I don't have a bug report, because no bugs are happening...

Ive been having the same problem. I did have a little break through, i went into %appdata%, then to roaming, then I deleted the .technic folder. After that I started the launcher, I got a message asking where I wanted to install the launcher. I selected the normal place (Roaming/.technic) I clicked ok, and nothing happened. So i guess that a success.

I'm getting this same problem, except that the logo flashes for a moment when opening. Running Windows 8; un-installed + installed latest Java JRE, running as administrator, rebooted computer, and run in compatibility mode for windows 7 for no success. I'm using the windows launcher; I some "cisco net security" is telling me that the latest builds have malware and won't let me download, so I haven't re-installed the launcher itself. I also tried using the Linux version which WILL download, but after opening, selecting a mod pack and running, I just get vanilla minecraft.

it still wont work I opened it and it said something about installing and I pressed yes and then the tekkit banner poped up and nothing happened I did it again banner poped up nothing happened it seems to only work on my mom and step dads site I need help and I tried the Linux version nothing
