tekkit servers not working

i downloaded the tekkit server and put it in a folder and tryed to start it but it gives me the downloading error message it says 5 more ... and then it says 3 more ... then it says press any button to continue i need help i re downloaded a few times and rebooted my pc.

If you downloaded the recommended version (1.1.8) then you'll need to download and rename the files and place them into the correct directory manually before it will work. This post has the URLs. The URLs for these files where changed after the recommended version was released. The latest versions include the files in the zip.

i did that and it still crashes when i start it i have jre7

If you have a mac you'll need to downgrade to jre6 otherwise that's fine. Post a crash report and maybe we can help you further.

what you need to do is:

1. delete the lib folder in your tekkit server folder.

2. download the server for hexxit.

3. copy the lib folder from hexxit and place it in the tekkit server folder.

4. doubble click launch.bat

It should all be working right now
