New Tekkit Classic server, need help setting it up.

I've just paid for a host to run the server, running an ftp under the Multicraft console. However, I can't figure out how to get the server to run tekkit classic. I've tried downloading the tekkit server.jar, uploaded it to the ftp, and renamed it appropriately, however whenever i try to log in through tekkit i get the Internal Exception, connection reset; error. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Which host have you bought your server from ?

Some hosts do not allow you to change the jar and only let you stick with minecraft. If this is the case it sucks to be you :D
