Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 342

Operating System: Windows 8.0 64 bit

Java Version: 7u45 64 bit

Antivirus Program: irrelevant

Description of Problem:

Fix by Maquadex posted on "Modpacks dont load. just says Add new pack! even the included ones!":

Click start

Right click on Compter and choose properties

In the left column, click Advanced system settings

Choose the Advanced tab

Click the Environment Variables button

Under System variables, click New

Set Variable name to _JAVA_OPTIONS

Set Variable value to -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

Close all windows you've opened

Hope this helps resolve the problem. Good luck.

[Note: this is a Windows only fix, but I'm sure savvy Mac and Linux users can find a way to make it work for them]

Thanks to Maquadex for this fix! It worked for me. Forgive me if I have broken any rules, but I believe this will be helpful for those facing similar issues.

Error Messages:

"Error parsing pack info" or something to that effect when adding new packs

Error Log:

Amazing work. I knew it was an issue with connecting to the internet, but didn't know it was due to IPv6. I appreciate the help, and, if you don't mind, will be shamelessly plugging it anytime someone has the issue.
