update failed error

Launcher/pack Version: 0.5.4.9

Operating System: Windows 7 32 bit

Version of Java: java 7 update 3

Description of Problem: When I try to download the latest technicssp pack it says update failed. after I re-open the launcher it tries to launch the game and freezes on white screen (ofc the log is only relevant to the update failed)

Error Messages: update failed.

PS: I just noticed that there is a thread I needed to read before I posted this and it says I should note which antivirus I use and if my java is 32 or 64...

So I don't use an antivirus and my java is 32 bit obviously...

I cant help you with anything other than experience, and that is, when you are updating technic or going between versions, I find I almost always have to clear the cache, or delete my technicssp folder in .techniclauncher.

I jump between versions a lot and every time I dont do this, I get various issues.

If its anything more technical I cant help, but i'm guessing this is the issue because you said you are trying to download the latest technicssp.

I've gone as far as to delete the entire folder and download a new launcher and still the same error...

Are you using the .exe launcher or the .jar launcher .

If it is the .exe launcher try using the .jar launcher and running it as admin and then let us know if that helps.

nope, still having the same issue... I'd imagine that wouldn't solve anything since the problem originates in the fact that the new ee2 file is .jar and it was .zip until now... I tried changing the config from .zip to .jar or the file itself into .zip but it didn't work, it would always download the new .jar file or just have the error anyway when i change the config...
