c-noTe Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Rest assured, I will do my best to do most of the work before asking for hands-on help! I did have some questions though, and will do my best to provide as much context as possible. My friends and I run a server (on an Ubuntu machine, but that should make no difference) and have been enjoying the different aspects of Tekkit and Hexxit immensely, and we have finally decided to try and settle on one server and incorporate as many of the desired features as the other mod as we can. We would like to keep Hexxit and the entirety of it's mods, but we would like to add in several of the Tekkit mods as well, such as Mystcraft, EE3, Applied Energistics, etc., while leaving out certain mods such as MPS and Atomic Science and other unnecessary/overpowered content unsuitable for the Hexxit playstyle. As I review the mod content listed on wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit, I see that some of the mods listed are not the same version as their counterpart on the page for wiki.technicpack.net/Hexxit . For example, Hexxit has NEI version 1.5.2.23 while Tekkit has version 1.5.2.28. Now, I would assume that since we are using Hexxit as our base and adding the Tekkit mods that we would go with that version, but will that cause any problems when used in conjunction with the Tekkit mods? Is NEI required for some of those mods, for instance? This is not a request for a custom modpack, but if anyone knows of one that has achieved something similar I don't mind being pointed that direction. I have searched over the forums but have only found posts that ultimately lead to making your own modpack, which I am trying now... :)
c-noTe Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 I also see that CodeChickenCore for Hexxit is listed as version 0.8.7.3, while Tekkit is using version 0.8.7 ... again, same concern, but I tend to think much less of one since Hexxit would appear to have the more recent version anyway... unless anyone has a dissenting viewpoint.
plokami666 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Unless otherwise stated by mod authors, mods are standalone. Generally speaking, some being a little outdated or updated won't make a difference in the way they work with other mods, unless of course they directly interact with each other, as in for example harken scythe and asgard shield.
