This is NOT possible.

The entire chunk would have to change positions, not just to 40 blocks down. (That's how minecraft works)

Perhaps you're talking about volcanos being a weird shape and having missing pieces?

They're like that, you can't really change it. It just happens.

This should not be possible.

Is it just that one spot, if so your computer might have had a small issue sometime or another and just screwed up once. I'd recommend booting and running memcheck.

This happened a few times I've actually repaired the chunks to make them look like they did before but it keeps happening.

Something has to be corrupted. I've never seen tekkit, or any minecraft do this.

Questions:

1. Has your computer Blue Screened in the last 6 months, and if so, how many times?

2. Do other applications randomly crash often?

3. Do you have problems with any other programs that use java?

Ive been having exactly the same problem on my server, but when it does it, it relocates 5+ chunks to the area around my base and the whole world

Just to answer your question

1.I get a BSOD very oftenly, it occurs after my server freezes

2.Nope

3.No

You should get your computer checked out a BestBuy or other local service center.
