When I download the launcher i get no mods?

The launcher comes with no mods? also when I get another mod i get this message:

'Error parsing platform response'

Any help would be much appreciated,

KakerMix I have tried Q. My Launcher starts up but there are no packs!

A. Your Launcher might not be able to connect to the net. Before you open it, try right clickng, and on the drop down menu select "run as admin". This is reported to have bypassed this issue. (Windows only) but it does not work any other ideas?
