So when playing vanilla/other mods I can play with a 256x texture pack and ridiculous shaders, making the game put Skyrim to shame while still getting 60-120fps. With Moonquest (linked here) however, I can hardly adjust the music sliders at the main menu because of all the lag and I get anywhere between 2 and 18 fps in windowed mode with the vanilla textures.

I have no idea why this is happening nor how to fix it. My drivers are all up to date, my computer is a beast and I made sure MC has enough ram allocated to it through the launcher. I tried running tekkit again to be sure it wasn't a problem with the launcher and the game ran fine, its just Moonquest.

I have a 3.3GHz 6 core processor, an HD Radeon 7970 video card with 3GB of vram OCd to 1.2GHz core clock and 6.5GHz memory clock and 16GB (I know overkill, most was free) of DDR3 1333MHz memory. When Moonquest is open it is using approx 30% of my CPU, 10% of my GPU and around 3GB of memory.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I could go about fixing this issue? Its hardly playable and quite annoying.

EDIT:: As you can see in my last post we moved on until we found a working mod pack.

Because 1.6.4 was a bugfix for client issues, 1.6.2 is still the current server version.

Anyhow, Java has stupid stupid issues with memory management, its leakier than a noob with fluid pipes.

Of course if you wanted any real support, we would highly advise posting into the bug section of this forum, where we would promptly inform you that we don't offer support for custom modpacks, and would advise you to contact the mod author. Who would tell you that its not a modpack issue since its working for others.

Are you using 64 bit or 32 bit OS? And same for java? Because if you awnser either "32 Bit" or "I don't know" Then that is your problem.

I use 64-bit java and it is version 7 update 25, along with a 64-bit version of windows 7 home premium. I forgot about editing this thread though, sorry. We could find no way to get a 1.6.2 version of the game through the launcher so we tried a few other moonquest packs until we found one that worked properly.
