No new ores are spawning in Tekkit SMP

hello all, i know this has been asked once or twice before but i still haven't found any fixes.

i just started a Tekkit server using the official server program from the Technic pack website and its working all well and good except that i cant find any of the new ores aside from quantum dust. i can access the recipes in TMI but obviously don't have the necessary crafting ingredients for things like pulverizes from the Thermal Expansion mod. i also have not been able to find any rubber trees or volcanoes but its been a long time since i have played Tekkit and they might have been removed for all i know. i have tried loading new chunks to no avail.

anybody have any ideas on a fix? preferably without deleting the world.

Are you able to place blocks added by mods on the server?

Yep, I can use TMI to spawn stuff in and use it

Well that's good, because you didn't accidentaly start the server with Minecraft Server.jar. I'd suggest trying a new world, and if that doesn't work redownload te server.
