Modpack Loads without mods!

so i followed a videos instructions and theres worked mine didnt, it wasnt unzipping the jar, my problem was answered on the forum and it actually launches now but in regular minecraft without mods i guess its called "Vanilla" minecraft, how do i fix this?

this is a really common problem and i also cant figure out how to stop. download any kind of modpack from technic and o to the launcher and push play. it gives an error.
