2 Problems, 1 Modpack, Help please?

Question

Posted

I have 2 Problems, 1 more common than the other, the first one, which is the most common, is that I get a white screen after I log in, slightly between the Mojang Logo and Main Menu. The other, if the first problem doesn't work, I get this, it says something like:

Bad Video Card Drivers!

This doesn't happen on my regular MineCraft Launcher, I have a 32-bit Windows XP Laptop. When I get a white screen, I was told in a forum post that I had to delete Meta-INF in the jinput.jar, I did that, still didn't fix it, I was told to re-install the Technic Launcher, and it still doesn't work ... I really want to play the Technic Pack, it is an awesome compilation, if only there were less problems, I play the Yogbox just fine, the Yogbox has the same problems, just less commoner and I can actually make it to the Main Menu and play the game.

Edit: Here is the report I got when it gets the Bad Video Card Drivers report. Again, this doesn't happen on my normal MineCraft Launcher.

ModLoader 1.1

Bad video card drivers!

-----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.

This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Edit 2: Here is the only log I have, I hope someone knows which problem that one is, because I do not know, please don't blame me, I'm doing the best I can to report this problem.

If the link doesn't work, PM or Reply to me on this thread.

Edit 3: I remember that I have Java 7, I was told for some reason I needed it to run my Bukkit Server, also, my Anti-Virus is specifically called Norton Anti-Virus. This is possibly the most information I could possibly give for now.

Only if you set Norton up wrong. Number of Norton-related problems I've experienced in the past three years = 0.

really? maybe it's only certain versions of norton. We've at least a hundred users report that their upodate problem was solved by uninstalling norton.

Also, it's just not that great an AV.

I've used regular Norton AV as well as the 360 version and now Norton Internet Security, under 32-bit Xp, 32-bit Vista, and 64-bit 7, all with no issues. Sometimes it was integrated Intel graphics, sometimes nVidia expansion cards, sometimes Intel processors, sometimes AMD.

I think it far more likely that, rather than Norton actually causing a problem, it's just exacerbating an existing one that otherwise might not be noticeable. As to its quality as an AV, well...I'll just leave that point alone, and say "I like it, so I use it" and that's cool.
