Tekkit wont let me Join server

Title: Tekkit wont let me Join server

Version: 1_0_3

OS: Ubuntu Linux 12.04

Java Version: OpenJDK 6

Description of Problem:

As i try and join my friend's server i get kicked off of Tekkit and the Technic Platform reopens and indicates that there is a log file for the crash.

If you want the whole Log i can send it over but seriously i need some help with this. Please help.

As far as I can tell the issue is in the java you have. Try installing regular java, NOT the developer java tools, they behave differently.
