Lately when i try to start up tekkit lite i get a crash message. i"m on the latest version of Java (Version 7 Update 5,) and up until yesterday (1/18) it ran fine.

Looks like your config files may be corrupted. Try deleting your tekkitlite folder (don't forget to backup your world or custom configs!) and downloading the pack again.
