A little server help for a newbie?

Hello,

 

So I'm new to this, and using it as a fun way to kind of learn a bit more about the process of running servers etc. Anyhow...I'm using Hamachi just for me and a few friends....(I know, that generates its on set of problems)...

 

 

My system specs that might be good to know:

 

Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX

Memory:  8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (4 Dedicated to the server)

HDD 240GB SSD

OS: Windows 8.1 (also i know that may not be ideal, but thats a work in progress)

 

 

Anyhow....I get random spikes I notice in the server monitor where usage seems to , for brief moments...spike up to 100%, with only two people playing. Every so often I also get internal memory issues that kick players from the game. 

 

I can't seem to figure out what's causing it? I've got he latest version of Java and everythings up to date. Any other suggestions that might help?
