Attack of the B-Team texture pack issue

OK so I've been trying to download the sphax texture pack since I use the same one on my non modded minecraft and nothing i do seems to work!!! I have downloaded both the regular pack and the patch for attack of the B-team  and transferred the patch to the original pack and place it in the resource pack folder but when I launch the game and go to select that texture pack nothings there... not exactly sure what i'm doing wrong i'm sure its something simple any help is much appreciated
