Cant Play Any Updated Versions Past 1.0.8 -.-

Whenever I Update My Launcher To 1.0.10a It Installs The New Mods and reinstalls and updates for new mods , then the launcher goes away as if its gonna open minecraft , then the launcher pops up again -.- , its really annoying can someone help me please!!
