Does Hexxit block certain mods?

I'm trying to include the Iron Chest and More Furnaces mods. I was able to add 3 other mods and they work just fine. With these 2 they show up in the mod list when I enter the menu screen but when I enter a world and search for them they don't show up in creative mode or NEI. It also doesn't work when I try to craft them with a recipe. I've installed these 2 mods many times and never had a problem with them.

 

Edit:

I found out that no config files were generated for these mods, meaning they were not loaded? But yet they show up in the mod list.

I'm curious to know this as well. I'm still searching for a thread that explains how to add mods. If someone could post a link that would be most helpful.
