Jar version of launcher not working correctly for me

The exe has it's own problems but I've meanaged to fix those, but the jar version loads properly but when I try to log into saves, they're all my regular Minecraft folders' ones. When I make a new one, it runs fine but when I try to open my inventory I get 'Saving Chunks' and it crashes.

EE keeps changing shit every time it updates unfortunately. It's made old saves incompatible with the current technic. You need to not even try to put old saves into the launcher folder. They won't work. That's all the help I can give you since you provided so little info.
