OSX Mavericks Java 7

Hello fellow internet,

 

So my friend who plays on my server has recently made the brilliant decision to upgrade his OSX Lion installation to Mavericks. As you are all familiar with, apple forces you to use its own version of java (Mistake #1 on their part). Their version of java also happens to be Java 6 which is unsupported by some mods. So basicly, how can I get Oracle's Java 7 to be installed on OSX Mavericks and get rid of Apple's version of java. This is quite important so that my friend can play again on my server.
